Stage 4.2 Final event

The following information is provided to event contestants and other event attendees for the First Responder UAS Indoor Challenge (UAS 5.0).

About the Stage 4.2 Final Event

In this final stage of the First Responder UAS 3D Mapping Challenge, contestants have worked towards commercialization and/or technical research goals. Contestants created and developed a Solution Accelerator Plan, secured a public safety partnership, and received direct support throughout this stage from their public safety partners, a UAS Consultant, and other government agency partners. For the final event, contestants will give a business pitch and participate in UAS testing using NIST test methods.

Contestant Amenities

  • Contestants will have a designated area to meet within the facility.
  • Note that box lunches will be available for purchase on site (note: those interested must indicate accordingly when registering for the event) and many local restaurants are nearby.

Replacement parts will not be readily available, and contestants should come prepared with some back-up parts should they anticipate needing them. Basic supplies can be obtained at a few stores, listed below, that are within a few minutes’ drive of the event location.

Security of items cannot be guaranteed. Contestants are encouraged to monitor and securely store all items. NIST, Capitol Consulting Corporation, and the Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Academy are not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged items.

The smoking of cigarettes, cigars, pipes or burning tobacco in any other form or device, as well as the use of electronic cigarettes, vaporizers, hookah or other water pipe devices and all other related devices, is prohibited on university property and in university owned vehicles.
